Immigration Lawyer Toronto
Immigration lawyer in Toronto
NextArrival Immigration is a Toronto immigration law firm led by licensed immigration lawyer Alwin Salgado. Our office is at 3080 Yonge Street, near Yonge and Lawrence. We help individuals, families, and employers at every stage of Canadian immigration, from a first application to a hearing in Federal Court.
Immigration is rarely just paperwork. One missed document can add months to your wait. A refusal letter can feel like the door has closed. We sit down with you, look at your whole situation, and tell you plainly where you stand and what we would do next.

Why the difference between a lawyer and a consultant matters
Many people in Toronto search for immigration help without knowing there is a difference between a lawyer and a consultant. For a straightforward application, the difference may never come up. When your case gets complicated, it matters a great deal.
A licensed immigration lawyer can represent you before IRCC, at the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), and in Federal Court. If your application is refused, if you are found inadmissible, or if you receive a removal order, your lawyer stays with you. You do not have to start again with someone new at the worst possible moment.
Accountability matters too. IRCC holds you responsible for mistakes in your application, even when your representative made them. A misrepresentation finding can bar you from applying to come to Canada for five years (Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, section 40). Lawyers in Ontario are licensed and regulated by the Law Society of Ontario, and you can check any lawyer’s licence on its public directory.
Why Toronto clients choose NextArrival Immigration
You speak with the lawyer handling your case.
Your file is not passed down a line of call-centre staff. You know who is working on your application, and you can reach them.
Applications and legal problems under one roof.
A spousal sponsorship can turn into an inadmissibility question. A work permit refusal can need a judicial review. Because we are a law firm, we handle the next step ourselves instead of referring you elsewhere.
Plain answers.
We explain your options in plain language, including the ones that are hard to hear. If we think an application is unlikely to succeed, we tell you before you pay government fees.
Two offices, one team.
Our Toronto office serves Ontario, and our Moncton office serves New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada. Wherever you are in Canada, or abroad, we can work with you.
What happens at your first consultation
- You tell us what is going on. Your goal, your history, and any letters you have received from IRCC or CBSA.
- We review your documents. Bring refusal letters, previous applications, or anything that worries you.
- You get a clear plan. We explain which pathway fits, the realistic risks, and a fee outline before you commit to anything.
- We take it from there. If you decide to work with us, we prepare and file your application or represent you at your hearing.
Consultations are available in person at our Yonge Street office, by phone, or by video call.

Freqently Asked Questions
It depends on the type of application and how complex your case is. A visitor visa and a Federal Court appeal involve very different amounts of work. Book a consultation and we will give you a clear fee outline before you commit to anything.
You can apply on your own, and some people do so successfully. A lawyer is most valuable when your case has a complication: a previous refusal, a criminal record, a gap in your history, or a removal order. If you are unsure, a consultation will tell you whether you need representation.
Both can help with IRCC applications. A lawyer can also represent you in Federal Court and handle legal matters such as inadmissibility, misrepresentation, and appeals. Lawyers in Ontario are licensed by the Law Society of Ontario.
Yes. We review your refusal letter, find out why the application was refused, and advise whether to reapply, ask for a judicial review, file an appeal, or choose a different pathway.
