Alwin began his professional career in the Philippines as a Registered Electrical Engineer, where early exposure to complex labour and management dynamics led him to pursue law. He earned his law degree from one of the premier law schools in the Philippines and was called to the Philippine Bar in 2004.

He built a distinguished legal career across both public service and private practice, serving as a Staff Judge Advocate with the Armed Forces of the Philippines earning several military merit medals and commendations. During this time, he also taught Labour Relations Law, Legal Ethics, and Legal Forms at a local law school. He later joined the National Prosecution Service of the Department of Justice as a trial prosecutor, further strengthening his courtroom experience.

His international experience includes serving as Senior Legal Affairs Manager for leading aerospace and Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) enterprises, as well as prior work with major oil and gas companies in the Middle East, including complex multinational operations.

Called to the Ontario Bar in 2019, Alwin has appeared before the Federal Court of Canada representing international clients in hundreds of judicial review cases, the Immigration Division, the Immigration Appeal Division, the Superior Court of Justice of Ontario, the Court of Appeal of Ontario, and the Court of King’s Bench in Alberta, Canada. He brings a unique legal perspective and is committed to delivering strategic, accessible, and culturally responsive legal services, particularly within Filipino and Asian communities.

Outside of practice, he spends time with his children and is a certified open water scuba diver with extensive experience exploring dive sites in the Philippines and abroad.
